The idea of establishing a distinct central university in the region began taking shape within the corridors of Osmania University. In 1967, a committee was formed to explore the possibility of creating an institution that would transcend traditional boundaries and promote interdisciplinary studies and cutting-edge research.

1. By Air: The nearest airport is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, situated approximately 30 kilometers away from the university. From the airport, one can easily hire a taxi or use app-based ride services to reach the campus.

2. By Rail: Hyderabad is well-connected by rail, boasting major railway stations like Secunderabad Junction and Hyderabad Deccan Railway Station. From these stations, one can conveniently take a taxi, auto-rickshaw, or use public transportation to reach the university.

3. By Road: The University of Hyderabad is well-connected by road, and multiple bus routes run to and from various parts of the city.
